Behind every Father’s Day celebration is a story. A story of love received, love given, love lost, and sometimes love we wished we had known. Today we remember that every family carries both joy and brokenness, and God meets us in both.
This is not simply a political moment or a cultural moment; it is a profoundly moral one, and people of faith are being asked, gently but insistently, to respond.
I also need to say that you are wrong if you are celebrating what happened yesterday. There is nothing to celebrate, nothing at all. There is nothing remotely Christian about any of this. This is not a time for celebration; this is a time for mourning.
But for me, the most beneficial full moon ritual is cleansing or getting rid of those things that do not serve us any longer.
