The O Antiphons: December 21 ~ O Oriens (O Dayspring)

Latin:

O Oriens,splendor lucis aeternae, et sol justitiae:veni, et illumina sedentes in tenebris, et umbra mortis.

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darknessa light has dawned.

Isaiah 9:2

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.

Isaiah 60:1-2
