As a Senator-juror, I swore an oath, before God, to exercise "impartial justice."

We are called to seek justice, to show mercy, to love God, to love our neighbor, and to love our enemies.

We will light the rose-colored candle as a reminder that in the bleakness of life, love and joy will shine through in the love that God has for each of us in the sending of his son to show us the path of righteousness.

For me, the love of others has to flow from our lives as Christians, and it has to move us to care for others, especially the least among us.

Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
