Bishop Jakes has been on the Dr. Phil show and I think he has an amazing grasp on our Country and the direction it is heading.
Jakes may well prove to be Obama’s antidote to the flap caused by Wright. Questions of ecclesiology aside, it is clear that Orthodoxy has a valuable contribution to make here, grounding the practice of the corporal works of mercy and the struggle for societal justice in the personal, ascetic struggle for transformation in the image of Christ.
